Individuals

Individual guitar tuition from Guitar Ministry is provided by a patient, understanding, flexible, and technically adept teacher. We believe in placing the student at the centre of the learning environment, and it is therefore key that the student has some idea of what they would like to achieve. This is an environment free from pressure, and we encourage students to learn at a pace comfortable to them.

It could be that you are a beginner, for whom the idea of merely being able to play a few chords to allow you to sing along to a few of your favourite songs is your desire. This is well within the capabilities of our services, and we can even provide some basic vocal tuition to allow you to get more from your voice when singing along to your guitar.

During the course of your tuition with us here at Guitar Ministry, we hope to inspire you and motivate you enough to take your music further. Through an enabling environment, encouraging confidence through ability, we can teach you how to take skills you already have and apply them in new ways. We offer a range of approaches to tuition, using video, audio and hands-on teaching, as well as teaching you how to read guitar notation, and, should you wish, musical notation.

Give us a call or an email to get going! We look forward to hearing from you.

Bands

Are you in a band? Whether you’re in an acoustic duo, rock band or whether you’re just starting to learn your instrument, Guitar Ministry can provide you with the skills necessary to make a smooth transition from ‘bedroom guitarist’ to ‘band musician’. Many beginner (and a surprising amount of experienced!) musicians overlook the differences existing between the two, and with just a few pieces of advice your skills could be enhanced all the more.

If you are already in a band and have identified areas for improvement with one (or a number) of your bandmates, why not take advantage of a group lesson from Guitar Ministry? We can provide constructive critiquing, and provide advice as to how your individual strengths can be best used to complement one another during a band environment. We can also offer advice on songwriting skills and arrangement if required.

Playing in a band should be fun, and we intend to keep it that way. Group lessons are delivered in the same relaxed, patient and enabling manner, and can be provided at our place or yours (lessons involving a drummer cannot be carried out at our premises, though we will happily come to you).
